All The Web Add URL - Click Here - Several visitors to EscapeArtist have recommended this search portal to us. It seems fairly quick, and it is fairly accurate. It is well worth submitting to and well worth using as a search portal.
Northern Light - Click Here - Hey, we are really impressed with this search engine. It is accurate and relevant. Northern Light pulls of a wide range of resources each time you make a search. Definitely worth listing your website on and definitely worth using for your searches. Finds lot's of websites the other engines don't find.
Excite Add URL - Click Here - Not easy to submit to, the submission form asks irrelevant questions and has odd categories that are required for submission. Excite doesn't have a category for itself. (i.e. no category for directories.) It is also very difficult to appear on. It remains one of the best engines on the internet, and is an important website to list your URL on.
Direct Hit Add URL - Click Here - Direct Hit's award-winning technology provides highly relevant results for any Internet search. By analyzing the activity of millions of previous Internet searchers, Direct Hit determines the most relevant sites for your search request. Comments: In terms of submissions note the following; a website like EscapeArtist appears high up on searches relevant to our venue, however, a new expatriate website would not get the same high placement. Direct Hit analyzes the number of links to a website and the number of hits it gets in determining placement. That is good for us, but not so good for a new website. It is an excellent search engine, but for new websites it may be a difficult submission.
Add Your Site to Lycos - Click Here - What applies to AltaVista & Go Network applies equally to Lycos. You have to learn how their spider reads your MetaTags. To complicate matters, each search engine reads your metatags differently. Lycos is difficult to appear on - but it does bring up relevant hits. It's system is just different than that of AltaVista & Go Network. It is defintely worth submitting to and it is a good search tool for finding sites that don't appear on other engines.
Add Your Site to HotBot - Click Here - Their submission system is simple and very user friendly - they have improved their listing system over the last year or so. Worth submitting to. It is worth mentioning that what you cannot find on other search engines can sometimes be found on HotBot.
AltaVista Add/Remove URL - Click Here - One of the best search engines - Gives relevant results rapidly, provides a lot of features that allow the searcher to find additional resources on the query entered.
Google - Add your URL to Google - Click Here - A year ago GO Network (former: InfoSeek) was one of the brightest stars on the internet. Now it won't provide a relevant search. Just as suddenly a search engine called Google comes out of nowhere and provides the best searches on the internet. No frills, no hot java, just fast and relevant search results. If you want to be found, submit your website to Google.
